Belgian Waffles
Makes 3-4 waffles
2 c. flour
1 tsp salt (or less)
4 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp sugar
2 eggs, separated
1.5c warm milk
5.5 tbsp butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla
- In a large bowl, sift together flour, salt, baking powder and sugar; mix.
- Preheat waffle iron to desired temperature.
- In a separate bowl, mix egg yolks, milk, butter and vanilla. Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture; beat until blended.
- Fold in egg whites
- Ladle the batter into a preheated waffle iron. Cook the waffles until golden and crisp. Serve immediately.
